Beyond Academics
At Axel Public School, we believe learning occurs at both individual and peer group levels, and that every student has unique needs and abilities. We provide an environment that is physically, psychologically, and socially safe — one that motivates learners to develop effective study skills and become life-long learners. We follow the system of Continuous and Comprehensive Evaluation (CCE) as recommended by CBSE, which covers all aspects of student development, emphasising continuity in evaluation and assessment of broad-based learning and behavioural outcomes across both scholastic and co-scholastic areas.

Discipline, focus and the art of competing inside
Indoor sports at Axel develop a different kind of athlete — one who is precise, composed under pressure, and deeply self-aware. From the meditative focus of yoga to the explosive footwork of taekwondo, every indoor programme is led by certified instructors.
Morning yoga in Axel's forest. Asanas, pranayama and mindfulness in the timetable.

Creative expression as a core life skill
Creative expression is not a luxury at Axel. Dance, music, visual arts and drama are part of how we develop the whole student. By the time a student leaves Class XII, they will have stood on a stage, performed in front of a crowd, and discovered what they are capable of beyond the textbook.
Bharatanatyam, folk, Bollywood and vocal training. Students perform at the Annual Evening.
Guitar, keyboard and music theory. Grade 3+ students join the school band.
Painting, sculpture and pottery. Compulsory to Class VIII; CBSE elective from Class IX.
Annual trips to historical sites across Assam. Journals and presentations on return.
Public speaking from Class V. MUN from Class VIII; Axel hosts an annual conference.
Learning by doing — inside and outside the classroom
Experience-based learning at Axel puts students in contact with the real world — whether through NCC discipline, Olympiad competition, robotics engineering or caring for the living creatures of the campus. These programmes develop responsibility, initiative and the kind of thinking that marks out exceptional people.
From Class VI — cadets have represented Assam at the Republic Day parade in New Delhi.
NSO, IMO, IEO and NCO from Class VI. Students regularly qualify for national rounds.
Arduino and Pi builds, 40-workstation lab. Robotics League finalists three years running.
Student-run butterfly park — only one in NE India. Over 40 species maintained on campus.
Student-managed rabbit care from Class III, linked to the biology curriculum.
Students who lead — and give back
Students at Axel don't just prepare for the world — they contribute to it, while they're still in school. Real authority. Real service. Real outcomes.
Student Council
A fully elected student council with real authority — event budgets, school policy consultation and direct fortnightly meetings with the Principal. Class VI to XII students stand for election annually. Leadership is treated as a discipline, not a title.
Community Service
Minimum 40 hours of community service for middle school students — flood relief, rural teaching, health camps and tree planting. 749 cumulative hours logged across all batches. Full programme details →
Scouts & Guides
Scouts & Guides are available from Class VI alongside the NCC programme. Both develop discipline, service values and teamwork. Annual camp participation is strongly encouraged for all enrolled members.
Career Orientation
From Class VIII, structured sessions with alumni in medicine, engineering, arts, civil services, law and entrepreneurship. Students map their aptitudes and interests before choosing their Class XI stream — no one picks blindly at Axel.
Annual School Play
Full production with professional-quality sets, lighting and live score — written and co-directed by senior students. Two public performances each year. The most visible expression of the school's belief that every student has something worth watching.
Parent Teacher Interactions
Structured termly PTMs plus open-door faculty access throughout the year. Student progress is monitored continuously — not just at the end of term. Parents are partners in every child's education at Axel, not occasional visitors.
