Facilities in photos

Purpose-built for learning — every facility is in active daily use, not for display.

Academic facilities

Classrooms and labs designed for how children actually learn — with their hands, in groups, and through doing.

Science Laboratories

Separate Physics, Chemistry and Biology labs with modern equipment. Each lab is staffed by a dedicated lab assistant. Weekly 90-minute lab sessions are built into the curriculum from Class VI. Students design and conduct independent experiments from Class VII.

AI & Robotics Lab

40 dedicated workstations, component library, soldering stations, Arduino and Raspberry Pi kits, and a 3D printer. Open to all students from Class VI onward and available after school until 5:30 pm for project work. Managed by a full-time Technology Coordinator.

Library & Digital Resources

A curated library with over 8,000 titles spanning literature, science, history and reference. Every student has a cloud account and access to a digital resource library. High-speed internet connectivity throughout the academic campus.

Smart Classrooms

All classrooms are equipped with interactive whiteboards and projectors. Lessons incorporate digital media alongside traditional instruction. Audio systems ensure clear delivery to every corner of the room, supporting students with hearing differences.

Mathematics Resource Room

A dedicated space with manipulatives, problem-solving materials and competition resources. Open to all students for self-directed practice. Used specifically for Olympiad preparation and the Class VIII enrichment track.

Arts & Music Rooms

Dedicated studio spaces for visual arts, music and drama. Acoustic-treated music room with a range of instruments. The drama studio doubles as a rehearsal space for the annual school play and is equipped with basic stage lighting.

Sports facilities

Over one lakh square feet of grounds. Sixteen disciplines. National-level coaches in six sports.

Cricket Turf & Academy

Full turf wicket, bowling machines and video analysis equipment. Head coach with Ranji Trophy experience. Academy trainees practice six mornings per week with structured periodisation planning. Several Axel alumni have represented Assam at Under-19 and senior level.

25-Metre Swimming Pool

Competition-standard pool that hosts district-level meets. Trained by a Level-3 certified coach. Past Axel swimmers have represented Assam at National School Games and Sub-Junior Nationals. Pool is open year-round with supervised sessions for all age groups.

Archery Range

SAI-affiliated coach. Structured development pathway from recurve introduction through compound and barebow. Students have won medals at the National School Games in Recurve events. One of the strongest school archery programmes in Northeast India.

Football, Basketball & Badminton

Full-size football pitch and basketball courts. Badminton courts (indoor) with proper flooring. Football team has won the Guwahati District Schools Championship twice. Dedicated coaching staff for each sport, with training three afternoons per week.

Campus life

Butterfly Conservation Park

The only butterfly conservation park in Northeast India, managed by Axel students. Habitat zones for over 40 species, with species-count records maintained by middle school students. Open to visiting school groups by appointment.

Organic Kitchen Garden

Fresh vegetables grown on campus by the Karbi farming community and served in the school dining hall. Students participate in the garden as part of the environmental studies curriculum — learning about food, soil and sustainability through direct experience.

Yoga & Wellness Space

A dedicated open-air yoga space in the forest setting. Daily morning yoga is part of the school routine for boarding students. The school employs a full-time counsellor and a resident nurse to support student well-being throughout the year.

Dining Hall

Capacity for the entire student body in two sittings. Meals are freshly prepared using produce from the school garden and local suppliers. Special dietary requirements are accommodated. Boarding students receive three meals and an evening snack daily.

Boarding Facilities

Separate boarding houses for boys and girls, each supervised by resident wardens. Study halls, recreation areas, and monitored internet access. Boarding students benefit from structured evening study time and weekend activities on campus.

Medical Centre

On-campus medical room staffed by a resident nurse. First-aid trained faculty across all departments. Tie-up with a local hospital for emergency referrals. Parents are contacted immediately in any medical situation involving their child.
