The Axel school calendar is full — not because we are busy, but because we believe that how a school celebrates is as important as how it teaches. Every event here is purposeful.

Upcoming events
Annual Science & Technology Fair
Class VI–X students present their science projects, AI models and robotics builds to faculty, parents and invited judges from industry. Open to all parents. The Technology Showcase for Class VIII AI projects is the centrepiece of the afternoon session.
Annual Sports Day
Inter-house track and field competition across all age groups. Swimming gala and archery demonstration. Prizes for individual and house champions. Parents are invited to attend the afternoon session and prize-giving ceremony at 3:00 pm.
Term 1 Parent-Teacher Meeting
Individual meetings with class teachers and subject specialists. Appointments are to be booked in advance through the school office. Parents of Class X and XII students will also meet with the counsellor to discuss board exam preparation.
Inter-School Debate Championship
Axel hosts its annual inter-school debate competition for Class VIII–XII students, with teams from ten schools across Guwahati district. Motion for 2026: "This house believes that AI should be allowed in school examinations." Open to parents and public as audience.
Annual Cultural Evening
An evening of performing arts featuring the school orchestra, choir, bharatanatyam and contemporary dance, and scenes from the annual play. One of the most anticipated events on the Axel calendar — always attended by the full school community. Open to all parents.
Career Orientation Day — Class VIII, IX & XI
Structured sessions with alumni in medicine, engineering, law, arts, civil services, entrepreneurship and professional sport. Includes a panel discussion, Q&A, and one-on-one mentoring slots. Students are expected to submit a reflection paper after the event.
Annual School Play — 2026 Production
The full production of this year's school play, with sets, lighting, costumes and live score. Written and directed by senior students under faculty supervision. Two performances — 8 and 9 August. Tickets will be distributed to all school families in July.

No Fire Cooking
KG students prepared healthy, no-fire dishes from scratch — building independence, teamwork and healthy habits in one hands-on afternoon.
Five Senses Activity
Hands-on sensory exploration using sight, sound, touch, taste and smell — helping KG students develop their understanding of the world around them.
Mother's Day Card-Making
Students across all classes crafted hand-made cards for their mothers — practising fine motor skills and creative expression while celebrating a meaningful occasion.
Field Trips
Field trips across all kindergarten classes brought classroom concepts to life — offering experiential learning outside the school grounds throughout the academic year.

Tree Plantation Drive Inaugurated by Jadav Payeng — The Forest Man of India
Jadav Payeng, who single-handedly created a 1,360-acre forest on a sandbar in Assam, inaugurated Axel's tree plantation drive across the Lokhra campus and the neighbouring MV School — inspiring students to think about legacy, patience and the environment.
TeenCon — Model United Nations 2024
Axel's Lokhra campus hosted TeenCon, a Model United Nations conference that brought together student delegates to debate real-world issues, practise diplomacy, and develop the skills of reasoned argument and international thinking.
Axel's Vigyana 2024 — Annual Science Exhibition
Students from Classes VI to XII presented research projects, working models and experiments across life sciences, physics, environmental science and technology. Axel's annual science showcase remains one of the highlights of the academic calendar.
Axel's Cultural Symphony — Literary & Cultural Celebration
A two-day literary and cultural celebration that showcased the school's creative depth — poetry, prose, music, dance and dramatic performances woven into an evening that brought the school community together and celebrated Axel's artistic spirit.
Smiritir Aalibat — Alok Xandhani Ek Jatra
Axel's Annual Day celebration brought together students, parents, staff and guests in an evening of reflection and performance. The event honoured academic excellence, marked the close of the year's journey, and celebrated the school's collective story through music, speech and ceremony.
Principal Featured as Panelist — WWF Educators' Conclave 2024
Axel's Principal was invited as a panelist at WWF-India's national Educators' Conclave 2024: Raising Generation 30. Two of Axel's teachers also attended the conclave, representing the school's long-standing commitment to environmental education and sustainability.

Annual fixtures
These events happen every year and define the Axel school calendar.
Founders' Day — January
Held on or around 6th January each year to commemorate the founding of Axel Public School. Includes the annual prize-giving ceremony, alumni address and the school's formal celebration of its community and achievements.
Science Fair — April/May
Class VI–XII science projects judged by faculty and external guests. The Technology Showcase for Class VIII AI projects is integrated into the Science Fair since 2023. Prizes awarded across categories by age group.
Sports Day — May
Inter-house athletics, swimming and field events across all year groups. House points determine the overall Sports Shield winner, announced at the prize-giving. The event is open to parents.
Robotics League — July
The Guwahati Inter-School Robotics League, co-hosted by Axel and two other schools. Axel teams have been finalists three consecutive years. Teams from Class VI–XII are eligible to participate.
Annual Play — August
Full school production with professional-quality staging. Senior students write and co-direct; all school members participate. Two public performances. Considered the creative centrepiece of the Axel year.
Community Service Day — November
School-wide community service initiative in partnership with local NGOs. Students are released from regular classes for a full day of supervised service in the community — health camps, rural school teaching or environmental work.
